Martin Truex - 2018 Inductee

On November 19, 2017, by holding off Kyle Busch in the final laps at Miami-Homestead Speedway in the NASCAR season finale, driver Martin Truex, Jr., crew chief Cole Pearn, president Joe Garone, owner Barney Visser and the entire crew at Furniture Row Racing brought home to Colorado an unprecedented honor. The moment Truexís No. 78 car crossed the finish line that day, Colorado was suddenly home to a NASCAR champion.

What began as a what some might call an expensive hobby back in the early days, Furniture Row Racing made its NASCAR debut in 2005. After 12 years, a dozen drivers prior to Truex and all the expected bumps in the road that came along with being the sportís only team headquartered west of the Mississippi, Visserís racing team, at last, stood atop the podium.

Simply put, Truex and his team were dominant from start a to finish in 2017. In 36 starts, Truex cruised to eight victories, 19 top-5 finishes, 26 top-10 finishes and 74 playoff points.

In the seasonís final race in Miami, the No. 78 car led an impressive (and ironic) 78 laps, including the last ó and most important one.
